UCSF and BCH-Oakland constituents should use the following information as a guide to the most appropriate contracting unit to support the type of engagement or purchase activity. The contracting unit will ensure the appropriate contracts, disclosure agreements, terms and conditions, and other critical documentation are executed on behalf of UCSF and/or BCH-Oakland in accordance with UC and/or BCH-Oakland policies and applicable regulations.

UCSF Campus Supply Chain Management

  • Purchase of goods and services by Campus departments and employees from a Campus (non-Health) cost center

  • Procurement* of goods and services by UCSF Health departments and employees from a Health cost center
  • Quality improvement collaborations such as membership or participation agreements in registries
  • Purchases and collaborations can involve UCSF Health or both UCSF Health and BCH-Oakland, UCSF enterprise, UCSF Affiliates, and UC Health Training Affiliation Agreements with other academic institutions
  • Contracts with municipal, state, and federal agencies involving service provision by a UCSF Health department and/or employee

*Procurement activities include formal sourcing through an RFx event, evaluation and pilots, and alternative finance arrangements such as rentals and leases
