If you are working with an external / non-UCSF partner and you want to share data from the electronic health record (EHR), you will need an appropriate data sharing contract that is executed with your non-UCSF partner. You may also need a security review if data will be transferred.
- Talk with a consultant who is knowledgeable about the latest UCSF data sharing requirements
- Work with the UCSF Division of Industry Contracts for the data sharing contract (contact: [email protected])
- UCSF de-identified EHR data are considered UCSF Intellectual Property and are subject to HIPAA regulations. Read more on data de-identification.
