Step 8.2 - How to Create and Refresh Extracts in Tableau Desktop

In this example, we are going to show how to create an extract for excel data source. 

1. Login to Citrix Environment and open "Tableau Desktop" application.

2. Click on "Microsoft Excel"

3. Navigate to the following path and open "Sample - Superstore" excel file.

4. Drag and drop Orders, People and Returns to the canvas on the right side.

5. Select "Extract" option

6. Click on "Sheet1" and save the extract in the following path: 

7. Go to "Data" menu and select "Refresh All Extracts"
